The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said it will onboard more farmers and commodity associations in Ogun State to benefit from its Anchor Borrower Scheme (ABP).
CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele gave the assurance when Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun led the leadership of the Ogun Famers and Commodity Association to the headquarters of the apex bank in Abuja on Thursday.
Emefiele noted the bank’s willingness to further support the state in line with the economic diversification agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
On his part, the Governor of Ogun commended the bank for giving maximum support to the state’s candidates for the ABP.
According to him, the meeting was also an opportunity to deliberate on other areas needing improvement, including the integration of additional beneficiaries willing to benefit from the agricultural liaison opportunity facilitated by his administration for farmers and other actors. of the value chain in Ogun.
Abiodun stressed that agriculture remains one of the cardinal policy axes of his government, assuring that his administration will continue to give agriculture its place of choice with the aim of making Ogun the food basket of the country.
